I had much better luck at a Sherwin Williams store. When I changed out our front door removing the lights on the left and right of the door, the left one had a real ugly dog door installed in it and the glass had been replaced with an acrylic panel, I had to install a bit of new siding which comes in white ready to paint. Light conditions at the room make it harder to spot the difference. It meets the original Sears paint at a corner and you would not notice it but I know both walls are different color. At the end had to buy more paint using the same color at Home Depot to paint the entire wall. ![]() Home Depot's Behr paint has a different sheen than Sears' Easy Living paint. The process is not perfect of course.īut the real problem was not the color, it was the texture of the paint itself. They have a special camera or scanner that takes an image of the paint sample and creates the proper mix of tints for reproducing your color. The original paint was Sears "Easy Living" brand which I believe is manufactured by Sherwin Williams. Tried matching the color at Home Depot with a chip of the original paint from the same wall because they sold you a little can of paint for just a few bucks and I did not want to purchase a whole gallon of paint for touching up the wall. I know I am late to the party but wanted to bring my two cents.Ī few years ago I tried retouching a wall after doing a small DIY project that involved drilling and some minor damage to a wall. ![]()
